Under Florida Statute Section 893.135(1)(f), Trafficking in Methamphetamine or Amphetamine occurs when the defendant sells, delivers, manufactures, or possesses 14 grams or more of methamphetamine or amphetamine.
In Jacksonville, Florida, trafficking in methamphetamine or amphetamine carries a minimum mandatory sentence which depends on the amount of the controlled substance involved. If the amount of methamphetamine or amphetamine trafficked is 14 grams, but less than 28 grams, the minimum mandatory sentence is 3 years. Greater than 28 grams, but less than 200 grams of the controlled substance carries a sentence of seven years. Anything more than that carries a sentence of 15 years in Florida State Prison.
