Kendal Schoepfer, Esq.Attorney
“Always having had a strong desire to help others pushed me to go to law school, and continuously has a direct correlation to my work as an attorney today as I help clients achieve their goals.”
While in law school I wanted to begin helping others and gaining experience right away. Through joining the Consumer Law Clinic at Florida Coastal School of Law as a Certified Legal Intern, I had the opportunity of protecting those in financial crisis by working in the areas of foreclosure defense, debt collection, and quiet title actions. A Certified Legal Intern is a law school student who has been certified by the Florida Supreme Court to represent clients under the supervision of an attorney. My consumer law experience continued throughout law school with a Judicial Externship in St. John’s County Florida, where I worked directly with Judge J. Michael Traynor, now retired.
After law school I helped consumers by representing low-income clients in need at the Jacksonville Area Legal Aid in 2010. In 2011, I continued helping others by practicing consumer law at the Law Office of David M. Goldman, PLLC where I have focused on consumer law and foreclosure defense. With extensive courtroom experience, I expanded my practice to include short sales, mortgage loan modifications, and other debt collection matters.
I have found that guardianship was another area where I could help others by helping protect individuals from harm and have assisted many clients in obtaining a guardianship to protect a family member. This has included protecting the elderly as well as minors in need. I enjoy helping clients take care of their family members through the Florida Guardianship process.
I have found that helping individuals and their families can also be accomplished through bankruptcy. Bankruptcy can help clients obtain a fresh start by reducing, eliminating, or restructuring their debt. Using Chapter 7 Bankruptcy or a Chapter 13 Bankruptcy has enabled me to help many clients discharge their debts, and keep their homes and vehicles.
I have been a resident of Jacksonville, Florida since 2007 after graduating from the University of South Florida in Tampa. After graduating from the local law school in 2010, I decided to remain in Jacksonville, Florida after my immediate family relocated to this area. Today, I have strong ties to Duval County and St. Johns County as my extended family has now also moved to Jacksonville and its surrounding areas. My weekends are filled with many family events as my immediate and extended families continue to grow. My husband and I love having both of our families so close together especially after we welcomed our first child in October 2018.
I am continuously expanding my knowledge base in each of my practice areas as I tackle new issues, work with other attorneys, and continue my legal education through continued legal education classes. Today, my primary practice areas include guardianship and bankruptcy law. I strive to help each of my clients reach their legal goals, and make their legal experience a pleasant one.
